rainbow

I meant to post this photo last week on the first day of rain, it seemed like a promise of what was to come - the view through the telegraph wires isn't the most aesthetically pleasing but it was a superb full rainbow

and it wasn't a bad sunset either, through the bare tracery of the crepe myrtle (not as good as Alice's sunsets, but it's the best I could do from the backyard)

That rainbow is pretty special, Erica. Your sunset photos are beautiful, too. Sometimes I like the more pastel colour better than the brilliant reds and golds. I've become a bit addicted to sunsets even though they are so unpredicatable.

I start out on my walk thinking that it won't be much of a sunset, then before long it's changed into something spectacular and I've chosen to walk where I can't get such good views.

I drove to another suburb last night and it wasn't a very good sunset at all, but tonight's would have been stunning in last night's setting - and I was just out walking instead.

I think you need a vista with a view of the horizon for a good sunset, that moment as the sun slips away, when I went to WA with my daughter we saw the most brilliant sunsets over the water, we made sure of stopping at a beach each night just to watch.
